2014 New Job
As of April 2014 I am in another position. This page will not be
updated any more.
2013 Single turbine wake
The figure below is a simulation of the wake and pressure around a
single wind turbine. The simulation was done using
SOWFA. The
simulation speed should correspond to a real turbine in a real world
setting. Initially the blades are pitched out of the wind and after
a couple of seconds it starts pitching in and rotating. The ambient
wind speed is 12 m/s. The left figures show the turbine from the
front and the right show slices of the wake seen from behind the
turbine. The top figures show the wind speed, while the lower
figures show the pressure.

2013 OFFWIND project
The goal of the project is to simulate the wind flow through a wind
farm.
Our part of the project is related to controlling the turbines and the power reference to each turbine such that the optimal power output from the wind farm is obtained. Furthermore to predict the power output from the farm during the next short period around 1 hour (also known as nowcasting).
2010-2013 Vestas Turbine Control Programme
I am working as a postdoc on the Vestas Turbine Control
Programme (VTCP). The programme is sponsored by Vestas Wind
Systems A/S and Aalborg University. The objective of the
project is to investigate various aspects of new control
methods for wind turbines.
2012-
I have stopped trying to make regular updates on this list, since I
just don't get it done. This, however, does not mean that the rest
of this homepage is not updated.
10th August 2011
The Vestas Turbine Control Programme we are hosting a symposium in
wind turbine control at November 28th and 29th. The programme for
the symposium can be seen here:

I presented our paper:
Minimising the computational complexity of the
RRT algorithm - a practical approach (see
it
here) at
ICRA 2011 in Shanghai (the International
Conference on Robotics and Automation).
December 1st, 2010
Started on a two year Postdoc within wind energy at the Vestas Turbine
Control Program
November 2nd, 2010
Have now made a short CV on
this page.
November 1st, 2010
The summary of the work, which I have made during my
Ph.D. project is
now a bit more up to date.
July 6th, 2010
A long time without updates has passed, so here is a short update:
- Had a great stay at University of Nevada during the autum (2009)
- During the spring I have been working on minimizing computational
complexity of an implemented RRT algorithm for generating a trajectory
through a human crowd.
- Had a paper "An adaptive robot game"
on ISR 2010
- I have an accepted IROS paper this
year, whith the RRT implemenations without the optimization.
- Just attended RSS
2010, which was very interesting.

Within a very short timeframe, I think I am going to put some photos
and updates from Reno and the surroundings
here. - Sorry the text
is in Danish only.

It turns out that I am very bad at updating this news section. Thus, I
have decided to change the name to
Misc. Postings. Consequently, it
will only contain information, which I just happen to feel like
writing (basically as I have done previously).
August 23rd, 2009
About a week ago, I arrived at Reno in Nevada. Here, I am going to spend the next four
months at UNR (University of Nevada). I will spend most of my time at the
Robotics Research Lab, which is directed
by
Monica
Nicolescu. Exactly what I am going to do is still TBD, but maybe
it has something to do with robots.
June 23rd, 2009
I have now updated the description of my
Ph.D work, such that it is
more complete and up to date.
June 16th, 2009
Our paper
Adaptive Human aware Navigation based on Motion Pattern
Analysis (see
it
here) for
