Cutter

The latest project, concerning field of marine transport, is an old 18' cutter, that was about being scrapped. Of course we couldn't let that happen - therefore "Lauget for større kutterentusiaster" was established - a small club, whos only concern is to preserve this exact cutter by restaurating it.

Purpose with this boat is mainly cruising and enjoying the danish summer.

The powerplant in this boat is an old Yanmar diesel engine (PMX-8), delivering astounding 8HP. The engine runs amazingly well. It is startet by use of a crank handle. In all a very simple and solid overall construction. 

Below is described the main aspects of the restorating process as progressing (starting from the bottom):

• Construction of winter lair - all woodwork are being treatened against further rot.
• Engine rebuild: New piston rings and grinded valves, new head gasket. General replacement of worned parts.
• Engine disassemblied, cleaned and repainted. VERY nice result:-)

  Sea water pump New valves were fabricated	Ready for paint

   

• Engine cleaned and started - after minor trouble concerning fuelsystem and pistonrings.

• Engine dismounted:

  After engine removal

• Everything cleaned thoroughly. Rotten tree and unnecessary installations were removed.
• The cutter was collected i Juli '06 and transporteret to captain Stefan Ravn's palace.
