Remember these bedroom pics that I blogged a couple of weeks ago? Now the whole apartment is professionally shot by Kristofer Johnsson, and I couldn't resist showing you some of the pictures. Styling by Pella Hedeby, of course. I think you recognize her style by now, don't you?

And as an answer to the question that Pella asks on her blog, about minimalist and colourless being boring, I say H*LL NO! It's beautiful and harmonious and gives me a feeling of calm and tranquility. Strong colors and busy patterns stress me out. Contrasts can be added with different materials, textures and by using darker vs lighter hues within the natural spectrum, instead of those cliché "pops of color" that everyone keeps talking about. However, I do love the fresh green colors of plants and flowers. But that's enough, I don't need to tell you more about this do I, because you are already here so I guess that means you share my opinions on this? Or do you disagree?

 

 

Let's start this new winter week with some fresh monocrome inspiration! I love the candle holders that you can see in two of the pictures. I forgot who makes them, but I think you can get them at Lotta Agaton's shop here in Stockholm. I also love the little candle stumps, they have a tendency to add up here too, but I never really thought of them as worth saving before seeing these pics.

 

 

This Australian home was transformed from drab Victorian to modern minimalist by interior designers Georgina Jeffries and Pip McCully, founders of Wonder. New skylights and large windows were added to maximise natural light and accentuate the bright, clean lines of the reworked interior spaces. I just got a question regarding the wooden chair in my post with behind-the-scene snapshots from my latest trip to Copenhagen. The chair is from Københavns Møbelsnedkeri, and I thought you would enjoy some pictures of their other work. This is top class craftmanship, in the classic Scandinavian tradition.

I just got a bunch of fresh pictures from &Tradition, showing some of their news for the season, to be presented this weekend at Maison & Objet in Paris. My favourite is the In Between chair designed by Sami Kallio.  Photography and styling is by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, excellent as always.

 

As I was leafing through the latest issue of Deko magazine I fell for Susanna Vento's latest work, this industrial setting that you can see in the top picture. I can't read a word of Finnish, so I just look at the pictures, but that is good enough for me when they look as great as this!

 

 

When I grow up and become filthy rich, I will hire Pella to decorate my home. Her taste is so refined, and her sense for detail exquisite. Her styling might look simple, but it really takes a lot of talent to make something very simple look so inviting and fresh.

I rented a small office space for a few months this autumn, but it didn't quite fit me so I moved my office back home again. While working from home certainly has its perks, like being able to work in your pyjamas, or not having to go out when it rains, it is not the most effective. I get a lot more done when I'm in a real office. So now I'm on the lookout for a new place. No hurry though, this time I want to make sure that it actually suits my needs perfectly.

Today I'm loving the styling and interiors of this home for sale by Fantastic Frank.

 

 

I tried to write this post so many times during the last week, but every time I sat down, a tiny person would come up to me and say "Mommy, can we read this?" or "Mommy, can we play?". So I did. Read and play I mean. And I really needed this time off. 2012 was busy, probably my busiest year ever. It started with the Interior Styling class at Beckmans Akademi, then we moved to this apartment closer to town, and then I worked most of the summer. As autumn started, I began working on my book that will be out this spring, and at the same time I did a lot of other fun projects and started a few that aren't quite finished yet but will be so much fun to show once they are launching!

I have high hopes for 2013, and right now I'm really looking forward to Stockholm Design Week and Meet the Blogger meet-up here in Stockholm, and after that I'm going to Iceland for Design March. I can't wait to revisit Reykjavik, as the last time I was there I was newly pregnant with that tiny person mentioned in the beginning of the post, and was too tired to really see or do much... This time I'll make sure to make use of every minute, and see everything that I missed last time! I'm hoping for many more travels throughout the year, and perhaps to see some other places than Copenhagen and Stockholm (although I love both of these cities, but something new would be nice too.)
