Born in Copenhagen 1980, Christian Fergo studied guitar with John Jacobsen, Lars Trier and Frank Bungarten and graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Lucerne Academy of Music, both academies awarding him diplomas with distinction for his recitals and soloist performances. The Lucerne Times called him an “outstanding young soloist” and wrote about him: “Christian Fergo showed a highly sensitive musicality and very detailed technique”.

Between 2000 and 2006, he visited master classes with internationally recognized artists such as the lute player Hopkinson Smith, guitarists David Russell and Paul Galbraith, pianist Alicia De Larrocha and pianist and composer Niklas Sivelöv.

In 2003, he met the German guitarist and professor Frank Bungarten, which paved the way for further studies. The work under the guidance of professor Bungarten was a milestone in his musical perception and technical development and made him change his guitar technique fundamentally.

In 2005, he was invited to play at the Lucerne Festival in the Lucerne Festival Orchestra with Claudio Abbado conducting. Later that year he was invited to appear once again with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra at concerts in Rome. In the summer of 2007, he graduated as solist in Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and conducter Ariel Zuckerman for which he was awarded a diploma with distinction.

In addition to his concert activities he also played in Mahler’s 7th symphony on the newly released DVD from EuroArts and has featured in a concert broadcast live on the European channel Arte.
