Firefly Detector FD


The detector is a key element in the operation of the Firefly preventive protection system. Dangerous particles and flames are identified by the detector with multilevel safety against false alarms.

The Firefly flame detector FD is intended for the indication of flames in small and average volumes.

The detector is infrared sensitive with glow-energy measurement and threefold signal verification giving a high level of security. This unique energy measurement method makes it possible to introduce balanced extinguishing actions accurately. In this way the amount of extinguishing agent can be limited in relation to the level of risk.

Technical data:
18Ox360 degree angle-of-detection - a half spherical angle of detection. A unique function that gives the Firefly detector a high detection capacity.

Energy measurement - patented design. The detector measures the highest energy level with each detection.

Self-test - continuous self-test during operations without any disruptive effects.

Optical indication of operations and alarms on the detector.

Self-control of installation. When connected to a system the detector automatically transmits data to the control unit to prevent the wrong type from being installed.

Quick connections - pre-fitted cables with plug-in connectors.

Self-cleaning. The half spherical design of the detector's protective glass is self-cleaning in virtually all applications.

Insensitivity to daylight. The detector is insensitive to non moving light sources and daylight. Only infrared radiation 1.5 - 3.0 mm are accepted, which means that the detector only indicates glowing particles from 400'C and up.

Temperature monitoring of the detector. Cooling using instrument air is required at high process temperatures exceeding 50'C.

Heavy duty metal enclosure - withstands aggressive industrial environments.

Eight detectors can be connected to one control unit.
