Gullfoss coil stamps.
Coil stamps were produced for
the slot machine placed at the main post office in
These stamps with remains
of the margin are rare in used condition, because the remains disappears when
the stamp is washed of.
Coil stamps can be found
in four different combinations:

Price
and quality. The stamps seems to have had 3 different periods of postal use. First
period is the intentional after they was issued until app. 1940. These stamps
are rare. 2.nd period is after the war (1945-49). The prices above correspond
to this period. 3. rd period is post cancelled stamps cancelled in the 50'ies.
These post cancelled stamps is normally easily recognised because of a light ¼
postmark in one of the corners.
Prices is
for good centring which is normal.
