New Challange Series Triathlon Headed to Copenhagen in 2010
The challenge is on as TEAM Challenge expands with the selection of its newest city to host an Iron Distance triathlon event. The series continues its reach in Europe and heads to Scandinavia with Copenhagen, Denmark being selected for a new race in 2010. Challenge Copenhagen will be the 7th race in the Challenge Series and the 4th Iron Distance event in the family.

The Danish capital of Copenhagen will host the premiere triathlon event which will consist of a 3.8km Swim, 180km Bike and a 42.195km Run.
The course will take in athletes on a spectacular route in and around the Danish capital with views of the famous sights of Copenhagen. The swim will take place at Amager Beach Park, the bike will be 2 loop through the Danish countryside before landing back in the city for a 3 loop marathon course with views of Copenhagen’s most famous attractions such as the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Castle and the picturesque Nyhavn waterfront.
Danish Triathlon Superstar Torbjorn Sindballe, Australians Belinda Granger and Chris McDonald and American Hillary Biscay have all committed to the race next year.
Not many other details are available at this time, but additional information and registration should be available next week (May 15th, 2009) on the race website www.challengecopenhagen.com.
This weekend one of the newly added Challenge races from last year takes place in Barcelona, Spain. The half iron triathlon event takes place on Sunday, May 10th, while the iron distance triathlon event takes place in October.
