Lancôme Teint Visionnaire Skin Perfecting Duo Demo & Review: How to Use It for Best Results, and Who Should Use it!
We all like it when foundations work a little harder AND a little smarter.
So when Lancôme asked if I’d be interested in trying out their new Teint Visionnaire Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo, I went:
It’s been 3 weeks now, so here’s the low-down on how it works, how to get the best out of it, and who I’d recommend it to.
First…
Visionnaire is oil-free, non-comedogenic and designed to be gentle enough for sensitive skins. It doesn’t clog my pores, cause spots, or any other negative reactions, but that said - this doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. I’m sure someone, somewhere in the world, will react negatively to a product. As with anything else, try before you buy.
(Be smart. If you have had any negative reactions with Visionnaire serum, then you probably should avoid this too.)
Shade tested: O-02
Note on shades: Lancôme foundations come in 3 different color categories. O’s are neutrals, BO’s are yellow-toned, and PO’s pink-toned.
Product Claims:
- Perfected Skin: Besides optical diffusers that mask and reduce the appearance of fine lines, discolorations, roughness and pores, the active ingredients are designed to provide skin repair properties, even out the skin and tighten pores in the longer term as well.
- Coverage: The liquid foundation is made to be silky, lightweight, and hydrating, and comes with a matching corrector for full coverage. Saves you having to buy 2 different products.
- Radiant “your skin but better” finish: Despite the coverage, Teint Visionnaire Duo is not supposed to look all cakey and mask-like.

My Experience of the Texture:
Foundation - It’s not really “sheer” like the carton says. In fact there’s quite a lot of coverage! Make sure you get a good color match. Other than that, it spreads and smooths out easily, is quite hydrating, and sets to a satin finish.
Concealer - Medium-coverage, very creamy. This isn’t an extremely opaque concealer and doesn’t set matte, so it retains quite a natural satin finish and doesn’t look heavy. I also find it runs just a hair lighter than the foundation and works like a subtle highlighter. Does not set.
The application process:
I tried it with:
- fingers: smoothing and patting motion; max coverage
- flat foundation brush: medium-buildable coverage
- buffing brush: lowest coverage
You can apply it 3 different ways:
- “Classic”: the first 2 photos in the 3-image row above show the application method recommended by Lancôme. Corrector, then foundation.
- Full coverage: Same as above, but finish with a bit more corrector on residual dark spots for an airbrushed finish.
- Tactical coverage: foundation first, corrector only on spots where you need concealing. This gives a lighter finish.
- Light coverage: Mix equal parts foundation with an oil-free lotion and then apply like a tinted moisturizer. Then use the corrector where you would use a pen-concealer, to highlight your brow bones, around the eyes, and the cupid’s bow of your lips.
Tip:
When applying foundation over areas where there is corrector, use a gentle patting motion instead of buffing or sweeping. This allows you to get maximum coverage and prevents you from smearing off your corrector
Verdict and Recommendations
Normal, dry-combination, dry as well as slightly more mature skins with uneven tones will probably love this silky medium- to high-coverage duo. It spreads and blends very well, doesn’t emphasize or grab on dry areas, and really gives a soft glow to dull, uneven skin without making pores look larger. But if you have oily skin or don’t need the coverage then this might be too heavy-duty.
While Visionnaire works to tighten and blur the appearance of pores, this is not a foundation with specific oil-control or long-wear properties. The concealer is also creamy and doesn’t really set so this product will probably not sit very well on acne and very oily skins compared to long-wearing or matte-finish products. Definitely better for under the eyes, and hyperpigmentation.
I haven’t tested it enough to really verify the longer-term skincare claims (evenness, smaller pores), especially since I’m already using Visionnaire serum daily, but it’s definitely a “comforting” foundation for days when my skin feels stressed and needs some pampering AND coverage.
