This place was awesome!

My husband and I both got tattoos here this week.

We walked in on a Sunday and Julia helped me with mine. I gave her a general idea of what I wanted and she created a beautiful template that was ready to go on me an hour later. She quoted me the price before starting and it was very reasonable. She did an amazing job on the tattoo, very clean lines and I'm very happy!

My husband saw Nikki the same Sunday I got mine and had a consult with her and came back Monday afternoon. She had taken his idea and created an awesome template and, again, quoted him price before she even started drawing.

Shop was clean and everyone was friendly. I wish we didn't live out of state so we could come back!

Went here based on advertising/word of mouth/Tucson Weekly voting this the best place for first-timers. Honestly had no clue how to pick out a good artist so I checked out each person's profile on their website and contacted Julia for what seemed like a style that would match what I was going for. But, I also wasn't sure if what I wanted to get (as simple as two letters in Courier font) was something that required an appointment or was as simple as a walk-in. Julia was booked, so I decided to walk in on a Saturday. Clint was the guy up front and when he greeted me I said I had emailed Julia but was just a walk-in. A) the music was loud so I had to repeat myself a lot, being nervous B) he was busying himself with something else so wasn't totally paying attention, C) it was an awkward first interaction probably due to my nerves so...it is what it is.
He was able to narrow down the font and get what I was looking for but quoted me at $80 whereas Julia quoted me at $60. I think it's like a car dealership where they sense an inexperienced customer and jump on it for the $$$.
It's a 3-star review because he tattooed what I asked despite it seeming like a chore, the arm rest actually came unhinged as he was working and he said it'd never done that before (thankfully no damage/slippage), and the place seemed clean and reputable. It *would* be 5 stars if it were easier to interact with the artists, they were straightforward in saying my tattoo was a standard type that wouldn't require an appointment, and if he gave me a better run down on after care. I'd mentioned I'd looked at the page on their website, but to send the customer off with the aftercare in writing would give me a bit more peace of mind.
Overall, it's fine. It's probably a better place than what I experienced since it was my first tattoo and I was nervous af, but maybe I'll go in with a leather jacket and a pierced septum next time so I fit in more. ‍

I did a lot of research before deciding to go to Sharon Moon at Black Rose Tattooers for my small (but very meaningful) Tucson tattoo. She is a fantastic person and a detail-oriented artist; I could not be more pleased with my new tattoo! Thank you, Sharon! You rock

Stumbled in here just by chance and I had a great experience. Phil helped me decide on a design and was an absolute pleasure to talk with while he tattooed me. The tattoo turned out great, I will definitely be coming back for more!

I got two piercings done by Gail, and she made me feel very comfortable and did an awesome job. This was the first time I got pierced where something didn't go wrong. She is awesome, and I will for sure be going back for more piercings!

Julia did a tattoo on myself and my fiancé. She was fantastic and so was her work. Julia was super friendly, helpful and overall had an awesome personality. The shop itself was very clean and the people there were all very friendly. If you ever find yourself in Tucson and wanting a tattoo, make sure to visit Black Rose.

I got most of my half sleeve done here and I keep coming back for more. Awesome environment and all the ladies are friendly. Nikki has done 2 (about to be 3) of mine and I get so many compliments on them and I LOVE them.

Love tattooing here. The ladies are awesome. I did touch up work for my wedding and just came back in for new ones that I love.

Got my first tattoo here. Julia was awesome, talented, and I will never forget my experience here. I don't have any frame of reference but I met a guy getting something fixed done at another shop and he swears by black rose. I don't have any reason to go anywhere else.

It was quick and simple! I just walked in and was helped within half an hour! Got a cute ass paw print on my foot and it hurt like a bitch but Molly was nice and did a great job!
