ShaRef Bibliography Conversion Service

How to use this Service

Using this Service is very easy, simply select your input and output formats from the selection boxes below. You are then taken to a page where you can select the options available for your selected input and output formats, and where you can select the file to be uploaded to the conversion service. As a result of the conversion, you will get a file in the format you requested, for HTML you will receive a ZIP file containing all necessary files.

The bibliography conversion service lets you convert your BibTeX or EndNote bibliography to BibTeX, EndNote, HTML, or Silva XML. For an example of an HTML bibliography, please visit dret's online bibliography, which has been generated from BibTeX. Note the OpenURLs, which enable users to simply look up the ETHZ library catalog for this particular resource. When generating HTML, this OpenURL resolver (and many other options) can be configured to generate customized HTML.

Important Note for BibTeX users: It is assumed that your BibTeX file is error-free, otherwise unexpected things can happen. Please check your BibTeX file with tools such as bibclean or JabRef before uploading it to the bibconvert conversion service. Thanks!

Important Note for EndNote users: Please note that the EndNote input and output formats are EndNote's XML formats, not EndNote's native enl format. Uploading enl files will not work. Use EndNote's "File → Export → Save as type XML" command, which is avilable in EndNote version 7, 8, and 9. If you use an earlier version of EndNote, you are out of luck...
