Creation - /kriˈeɪʃn/

- Aarhus Vocal Festival 2024

Aarhus Vocal Festival (AAVF) proudly presents the theme Creation for 2024.

Creation – the act or process of making something that is new, or of causing something to exist that did not exist before

To create, to be creative, to be part of creation – these are all statements relating to the interchangeable cycle of process and product, of becoming and being – bound to the very condition of humanity and life itself. Everything around us is a result of creation, and all our engagements with each other and nature evolves around creating. Music is – and always has been – a starting point for human interaction with each other and with our surroundings. Everyday life, celebrations and ceremonies are all accompanied by musical creations. Music creates a connection between us, between our history, our presence, and our future, between ourselves and our surroundings.

With the festival theme, we wish to highlight the performative power of music through Creation in the broadest sense, as we embark on a creative voyage of vocal music traditions, innovation and creativity.

Let us bring Creation to life!

Join us for AAVF 2024.
